OILS
Whether
their hydraulic oils, gear oils, quench oils or cutting oils, most oils share
one common performance issue, contamination. Contamination from water, particulate,
another fluid or even air can reduce oil life and affect its ability to transfer
force/lubricate or cool.
Zimmark’s Oil Performance Management (OpM) Program uses a combination
of sampling, analysis, on-line decontamination, additive refortification
and off-line recycling to manage fluid condition and extend oil life.
In closed loop applications (hydraulic sumps, gear boxes etc.), our programs
provide the documentation and predictive maintenance information necessary
to meet QS9000 requirements. We compile the analysis and provide maintenance
the information they need to focus attention on problem machines. Regular
analysis, de-contamination and additive fortification allows us to move away
from a PM based oil condition management strategy to one based on actual
oil condition. Wear is detected through elemental analysis, providing timely
clues to maintenance about possible equipment failures.
